Moving Day - Unpacking Day 1

Today was the day the movers brought out household goods that have been in storage for two years.  We moved to Italy with personal belongings, bikes, and two desks.  Our apartment was furnished, so our furniture and everything else was put in warehouse storage.

The movers didn't come until early in the afternoon, so we had some time to get ready for the wave of stuff.  For me, most of our belongings fell into three categories as we unpacked: 1)  happy to see item again, 2) Why the heck do we still have this?!?!?!, or 3)  I don't remember this at all.

Once the movers were gone, I started unpacking.  The kitchen was first, then the rest of the house.  Katrina worked on getting our bedroom setup.

Unfortunately, one 'pod' of our belonging was forgotten at the warehouse, so we still didn't have dining room chairs, part of Brandon's bed and two cabinets for the front room.  They will be coming back tomorrow with the remaining goods.

We unpacked until early evening when Mike, who was in Italy with us, came over for dinner.  Andy also stopped by to say hi and ended up staying for dinner as well.  Tacos, burritos, Spanish rice and beer were dinner tonight.  Yum!...and we don't have to ration the cheddar cheese!

When everyone was gone, we were tired.  I think we were in bed by 9pm.  Tomorrow afternoon the movers will return with the rest of our stuff.  I will be spending most of the day unpacking.  Katrina has to go to work for a few hours in the morning.
