Todays forecast: sun yielding to clouds, high 32c. Its going to be a warm one.
We had a morning of creativity in our apartment. I worked on my model ship, Katrina tried out her new acrylic paints and Brandon made more furniture for his stuffed animals out of cardboard. All this with Matt Nathanson playing in the background.
We decided to head into Parco di Monza for a few hours this afternoon. Brandon has been wanting to rent a Carrozzella. Its a 4 wheeled family bike. We rented one and rode all around the park. Wow, talk about tireing. Its a heavy beasty thing. Even with Katrina and I both pedaling it took all our might to make it up even the slightest inclines. We had fun though. Brandon rode up front on the bambino seat. It was hot. Its supposed to be in the mid 90's today. The park is packed with people. Italians love their parks. They gather their families and all sorts of bbq equipment and lawn games and head to the parks for the day.
On our walk back home we stopped at la piccola Gelateria Paticcieria, our favorite neighborhood shop. We love our gelato!
Work continues on the HMS Victory.
We relaxed at home this afternoon. It was just too hot to do anything outside. I worked on my model ship. Brandon played and watched Tom & Jerry. Katrina did some reading and organized more photos on her laptop.
Brandon and I went out to see what was going on at a street festival down the road. It wasn't much of anything, so we ended up at Parco di Matteotti. Had quite a conversation with an Italian dad of a classmate of Brandon's. I'm am slowly, very slowly getting better at speaking Italian.
Its a warm evening. The air conditioners are on in the living room and our bedroom.
