Playdate for Brandon

Questo e' il traghetto per Capri - This is the ferry to Capri.

Its cloudy this morning in Vedano. The forecast: scattered morning showers, high 25c.

I had to go downstairs with Katrina and Brandon this morning. Brandon needed to collect some soil and rocks for a school experiment. We found some good soil under the bushes below our balcony. Only 6 1/2 days of school left.

I spent part of the morning putting the last of our belongings away. We have so much more storage than we do in our Corvallis house and the storage is so much more functional. I can see changes taking place when we return. The Italians are very creative when it comes to storage, since apartments are much smaller on average.

Desperate Plea: I would like to say thanks to Kathy and Jen for bringing us Crystal Lite and Wylers. We are really enjoying having something cool and tasty to drink. We are starting to get low, so if anyone wants to send a care package, please send Crystal Lite or Wylers drink mixes - or sugar free Kool Aid. I know it is expensive to mail things to Italy, so here is how you can send something cheap: buy a container or two of drink mix packets, take the envelopes out of the plastic tube and put them in an envelope. Even just a few packets in an envelope will go a long way. Ok, I'm done begging now.

Brandon has a playdate at Vincent's house today. Since Vincent rides his bike to school, I had to walk Brandon's bike to school this afternoon. While there I dropped off his registration papers for the new school year in the fall.

I just read this on Facebook and it made me laugh, "I sat back looking at the stars and began to think...where the heck is my roof?"

I swept and mopped the floors this afternoon. I've probably said it before, but its amazing how dusty and dirty everything gets in one week. Despite that, I really love our apartment. I don't miss our house and I especially don't miss the yard work.

I rode over to pickup Brandon at Vincent's house. They live in a large villa that has been divided into 5 apartments. Theirs is pretty roomy and big. They have a nice big yard for the kids to play in. Brandon had fun. We need to have Vincent over to play sometime soon.

Katrina stopped at IKEA on the way home from work. We wanted a file cabinet for our office, a couple of door mats and a couple bags of meatballs and ligonberry sauce.

Tonight we are having tacos for dinner. We love mexican food.

Happy Birthday Mom!!
