Bikes to Ride

Ho affittato una stanza in una pensione - I rented a room in a guesthouse.

Todays forecast in Vedano: scattered showers, high 31c.

For those who would like to see more wonderful pictures of our trip to Venice, go to Katrina's blog. Katrina just posted days 3 & 4. She took many fabulous shots.

Katrina had an Italian lesson this morning, so I went shopping for a few things we needed from Auchan.

I spent the early afternoon unpacking our office and some of my clothing. Whew, its so warm it makes it hard to even look at our winter clothing as I unpack. I also cleaned the bathrooms today. Maybe if I said that in Italian it would sound more exciting or romantic...ha!

I also spent some time fixing a flat tire on my mt bike so that Brandon and I can ride our bikes in Parco di Monza after school today. Yes, he is still in school. He has 6 1/2 days left after today.

After school today, Brandon and I did a little adjusting to our bikes and went out for a test ride. We rode through Parco di Monza to the center of Vedano for a granita. One of Brandons friends, Jakub was at the shop, so we chatted a bit. We continued our bike ride through the park, making a loop back to the Matteotti gate. It is so hot, but several degrees cooler in the park.

This evening I made Trenette al Pesto - trenette pasta with green beans, potatoes and pesto. I made the pesto from scratch. It turned out pretty good. We all ate several helpings.

I had to run to Auchan again this evening to figure out what power strips we needed to hook up our computer and our DVD player. I will save the details for another blog, but not only is there different power here in Italy, they have many different types of adapters. Even if you buy an appliance made it Italy, it still usually means you need some sort of adapter to have the correct plug configuration. Its confusing and tonight...a little annoying.
