L'albergo Quisisana e' veramente caro - The Quisisana hotel is really expensive.
Today in Vedano: a couple of thunderstorms, high 27c.
Katrina worked from home today. Brandon is part of a 3rd grade assembly today.
Its tough to tell, but if you look closely you can see multiple images. Much worse when driving.
That was good for me since I needed to take the car to the Linate Hertz office for repairs. I don't think I told this story yet. A little over a month ago Katrina came home from work and told me about her aweful day. She had several things go wrong, the first of which is the subject of this story. As I have mentioned before (I posted pictures) our car, a Fiat Idea, barely fits in the garage. There is approximately a 2 inch clearance for the side mirrors as you pull into the garage. As Katrina tells it, after several weeks of backing out with no problem, she started getting a little too comfortable. That morning she backed out and caught the passenger side mirror and front fender on the garage door frame. The mirror (glass part) broke into many shattered pieces. The front fender lost a chunch of fiberglass, about the size of a quarter. She was able to put the mirror pieces back together, but we have been driving with 'multiple images' in the passenger mirror for weeks. When we renewed our monthly contract at the Monza Hertz center we mentioned the damage and they ordered a new mirror. Thank goodness for rental insurance. Well, the replacement part came in and I needed to take the car back to the Linate airport to get it fixed. When I arrived, they didn't know anything about it and told me the service shop was too far away. They suggested just replacing the car and wanted to give me an upgrade to a very nice Opal. Unfortunately the car was much bigger and we didn't really want a bigger car, even with so many more features. We now have a Fiat Idea, same color, same car...just cleaner and with a working passenger mirror.
Katrina and I decided to walk over into Vedano and get some lunch at the local pizzeria. It nice to have some 'us' time.
3rd Grade Class
Playing "Amazing Grace" on recorders.
Brandon's friend Vincent from Belgium.
This afternoon we visited Brandon's school for a 3rd grade assembly about climate and weather. They all did an amazing job. Many of us expected the kids to read from their reports, but they memorized their lines, put on a skit, and sang some songs. It was great.
Brandon's main role in the presentation.
One of the final songs.
On the walk home from school we stopped at our favorite gelateria for a cold treat.
I tried limone for the first time....wow is that strong.
This evening we hopped in the car and drove to downtown Monza for Katrina. She spent the late afternoon doing a sketch for a painting. She was in our office trying to decide how to setup a painting area, so I suggested we just go down and buy her an easel, so we did.
Katrina has been busy this evening working on her painting. Brandon has been hanging out watching her and 'organizing' his paints. I've been watching TV. Watch CSI New York for the first time ever. Brandon watched a little Tom & Jerry before bedtime.
