About Me

I am a 45 year husband and dad, currently adjusting to life back in the United States after living in Italy for a little over two years. I love spending time with my family, cycling, model railroading, mosaics and watching TV and movies.

Sabato

Una mia cara amica ha una villa a Capri - A dear frend (f) of mine owns a villa in Capri.

Its a beautiful morning in Vedano. Forecast for today: partly sunny, 28c.

I spent some time last night and this morning working on the second leg of our July vacation. Right now its shaping up like this: 7/18 Fly to Amsterdam + 3 nights, 7/21 take high speed train to Dusseldorf Germany then on to Bacharach Germany in the Rhine Valley + 3 nights. Now I need to book part 3. I think we will take the train to Heidelberg and spend 2 nights before taking the train to Milano and home.

We decided to go for a family bike ride in Parco di Monza this morning. Brandon led the way. Its amazing how we can ride for over an hour and only see a small section of the park. We had a lot of fun, but wow is it a humid day.

Katrina spent the mid afternoon working on a painting. I ran to Auchan to get a few things for dinner; Mike is coming over. I also had to pickup a gift for a birthday party Brandon will be attending later this afternoon.

Katrina took Brandon to Matilde's (yes I spelled it correctly)birthday party. Its several blocks from our apartment, so they walked. I rode my bike over to the Autodromo to check out the 34th Festival of Sport. Basically, its an event for local clubs (mostly sports) to show off who they are and what they do. I saw bike races on the Autodromo track, soccer games, ultimate frisbee, rugby, RC car racing, the local Ferrari and Fiat club, bacci, kickboxing, rock climbing, scuba diving, trials bike riding, karate, horseback riding, roller blading events of all sorts, and even a modular railroad club.

This evening Mike came over for dinner and to hang out. He took the Metro to San Giovanni then had trouble catching a bus so I had to go pick him up. Sometimes life in Italy can be very confusing.
