Flying to Glasgow Scotland

This evening we headed to the airport in Bergamo for our flight to Scotland.  Overall, we had a good trip to Scotland.  We did have an interesting journey, thats for sure.

The rain began to fall as we drove to Bergamo.  Normally we fly out of Malpensa on EasyJet, to the west.  For this trip we would be flying Ryan Air out of the Bergamo Oia Airport.

It's only a 45 minute drive to Bergamo, but we left a little early due to potential Friday night rush hour traffic.  It probably would not have been that bad if the sky hadn't decided to open up and dump water on us.  It rained so hard, so fast that the Autostrada was quickly flooded with water and it was hard to see.  This caused traffic to slow down quite a bit.

We did make it to the car park and the rain did let up by then.  We ate dinner at the airport then headed down to our gate.  Our flight and many other flights were late due to the severe weather.  We were supposed to fly out at 9:45pm.  I don't think we left until after 10:30pm.

We arrived in Glasgow after midnight and took the shuttle bus into the city center, about a 45 minute trip.  From the city center we had to catch a taxi to our hotel, Novotel, for the night.  I think we finally plopped in bed around 2am.

It was a long evening, but we were in good spirits.  Tomorrow morning we catch the train north to Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.
