After purchasing new batteries, we still could not get the Lego Mindstorm Rubik's cube solver to work correctly. It kept making mistakes by not 'handling' the cube correctly, getting jammed quite a bit.
This morning Katrina (our family engineer) looked at it and compared the problem areas with the instruction pictures. She found two small items on the moving arm had been put together at the wrong connection points. A little repair work and the Tilted Twister can now solve the the Rubik's Cube.
