About Me

I am a 45 year husband and dad, currently adjusting to life back in the United States after living in Italy for a little over two years. I love spending time with my family, cycling, model railroading, mosaics and watching TV and movies.

Monte Bre'

We packed up our suitcase and headed down to breakfast. After breakfast, Brandon and I took our luggage to the car while Katrina headed to the park to take pictures.

Our plan for the morning was to take the funiculare up Monte Bre'. To get to the top you must ride on one segment, exit, cross the street then ride the second segment to the top.

On the second ride up we met Tom and Alma, a wonderful retired couple from England. We chatted for a bit, then parted ways. We headed up to the overlook and took some pictures before going back down to the hillside bar for a drink. Our new friends were there and invited us to sit with them. We had a great time talking and ended up sitting for quite a long time. They gave us some tips for our August trip to England. We shared some stories about living in Italy.

Eventually it became too warm and Brandon was getting antsy, so we rode the funiculare back down the mountain, still chatting with Alma and Tom.

At the bottom, we parted ways. We headed towards the Thai restaurant for a late lunch. Unfortunately, they were closed, so we had to settle for a tasty lunch of gelato.

This evening was spent relaxing at home. I watched some bike racing on TV and worked on this blog. Katrina read and Brandon played and did his homework. We ended up ordering pizzas for dinner...always a tasty option.
