Rain. It's still raining in Vedano. It's not raining at this very moment, but it is cloudy and it rains periodically.
Katrina is home again. She is still sick. She says her cold has moved from her head to her chest.
Since Katrina was home, I had a car to use. I headed to Auchan to stock up on some groceries. Auchan always has some new special display at the front of the store. This week it is TV sets. Wow, they are really getting high tech and so much cheaper. Do regular old TV sets even exist anymore? I haven't seen any since we arrived in Italy, other than the one we are renting for home. Everything is flat panel, of one type or another. I am not up on what is the best or most high tech, but Auchan was showing off LED technology TV's Thats new to me. Heck, if it wasn't for the power and format issue, I could get a nice 32 Sony flat panel for the wall of my future train room for only 199 euro.
Have I mentioned my future train room? Our plan when we move back to Corvallis is for me to move out of the garage and front hobby room, and into the back guest room. I most likely will not be doing train shows anymore, mostly for expense reasons. I will be building a more compact and different layout in the 'Train Room'. Although the room is smaller than my current layout, I have designed and will continue to perfect a new layout plan before we move back. I will also have my hobby desk setup in the closet. At this time we are planning on taking out the rest of the carpet in the house and replacing it with laminate.
The old 'hobby room' in the front to the house will become Katrina's 'Studio'. Brandon desk will move to his bedroom. The garage will now have more space to store (and work on) bikes, as well as provide room for our new (actually its old...1960) Fiat 600 - this is a different story that I will leave for a future date.
Ever since I finished watching all seven seasons of West Wing, I've been working my way through Band of Brothers. I've watched the mini series before, but this time its a bit more interesting since we have visited several of the locations where Easy Company were located. It's hard to believe that much of Europe was under Nazi rule at that time.
I spent time this afternoon doing some planning for this weekends trip to Cinque Terre and our August trip to England. I watched the Rick Steve's segment on Cinque Terre and am getting excited. It looks like a beautiful area. I hope the weather cooperates.
