Auguri Mamma! That is the sign Brandon and I spotted on a craft table in the mall yesterday. It's the only sign of Mothers Day I have seen here in Italy. We find that it is very easy to forget about all the American holidays when we are not bombarded with the commercialism of them, or the fact that they aren't celebrated in other parts of the world.
Thank you to Katrina for being a fabulous mother and partner. We love you very much and wish you a great day and a great year ahead.
This afternoon I worked on my mountain bike. It's been in need of some maintainance for a very long time. After a few repairs and some cleaning, Brandon and I headed out for a ride in in Parco di Monza. Unfortunately, the trails were too soggy and muddy for the ride, so we stuck to the paved paths. Brandon is quite the cyclist. He really pushes and keeps us moving along. I sometimes wish we could find an inexpensive (because he's still growing) road bike so he could join me on some longer rides. He told me today that he would like to ride to Como with me this summer. He could do the mileage pretty easily.
This evening I watched the Giro d'Italia, stage 2. What a day for crashes! Wow. Team Skye is looking pretty strong. I wish Radioshack was in the race.
Ah, another evening of rain. Rain, rain, rain...lots of rain lately.
