About Me

I am a 45 year husband and dad, currently adjusting to life back in the United States after living in Italy for a little over two years. I love spending time with my family, cycling, model railroading, mosaics and watching TV and movies.

Getting Ready to Move

This week has been all about getting things in order for our move to Italy. We have scheduled the movers, scheduled a consulate appointment for mine and Brandon's Visa application, scheduled a a carpet cleaner, put our house up for rent, planned a birthday party for Brandon, sorted through our belongings, worked on the inventory of our household goods, as well as all the normal daily chores.

Its been a busy week. On Saturday we leave for a 5 day apartment hunting trip to Italy. When we get back like will kick into an even higher gear.

One of the key time components is for Brandon and I to get our Visa's back in time to hopefully leave for Italy on the 18th. We shall see. If they are processed as fast as Katrina's, it will be no problem.

We are amazed at how many things we have accumulated over the years. We have given away so much to friends and Goodwill. Yesterday we gave away the last of our house plants. We've had some of those plants since we were married.

All this leads us to a new chapter of our lives. I don't really know what the next two years have in store for us. I know it will be an adventure that we will get to experience as a family.
