About Me

I am a 45 year husband and dad, currently adjusting to life back in the United States after living in Italy for a little over two years. I love spending time with my family, cycling, model railroading, mosaics and watching TV and movies.

Support

Monday morning and we are all up early for some reason.

Todays forecast: partly sunny, showers around, high 23c.

Italian phrase: L'acqua sgorga cristallina dalla gorgente - Water flows crystalline from the spring.

Life is not always easy when you move to a new county. Brandon is going through a low point right now. He told Katrina, on their walk to school this morning, that he misses Corvallis, his friends, his school. He feels like he has all sorts of pressures pushing in on him. Poor guy. Even us adults have issues, but to be 8 years old must be pretty difficult as well. Katrina and I are going to talk with him this evening and see what we can do to help him. We've been having some struggles with him lately. Unfortunately they lead to negative attention for him. We need to figure this out together, as a family. What can we all do to support each other? What can we do to support Brandon?

My afternoon was busy running a few errands and keeping up with random household chores.

Brandon was in a pretty good mood when I picked him up today. He had a good day in school.

Katrina and I were in the mood for pizza yesterday, but could not find a local pizzaria open. I still had pizza on my mind today. I walked over to our new found pizzaria and they weren't open today either? Hmmm. I emailed Katrina to see if she wanted to go out for pizza tonight since we need to shop anyway. Brandon needs another pair of shoes for his overnight fieldtrip later this week. Brandon does not like to eat out much?!?!?! That is fine with us when it is convenient to feed him at home. He had a bowl of pasta and pecorino pomodoro and told me that it was better than in a restaurant!

When Katrina got home we all went to the mall at Auchan to get some items for Brandon's overnight school trip: sandals, bug spray, and sunscreen. We ended up eating dinner at Old Wild West in the mall. Katrina had nachos and a margarita. I had a Dakota burger, fries and a coke. Brandon just read his book since he had pasta a home.
