A New Week

Its Monday again. We have been in Italy for 4 weeks now and life is good! I'm really enjoying life here in Vedano. Aside from planning our upcoming trips, I really don't think much about the future. One day at a time, enjoying each day as it comes.

Todays forecast: a passing shower, high of 23c.

This morning Katrina and I walked over to the bank to pickup our bank cards. Here in Italy they send you your pin in the mail, then you go to the bank and get your card in person.

After that brief stop we walked over to the Monday market. Its always fun to see all that is for sale and pickup some fresh items. Today was all about oranges. We bought 1 kg of oranges. We also sat and enjoyed a capucinno and tea, with fresh croissants.

Italian phrase for the day, "Katrina si ferma a tutte le bancarelle." Katrina stops by every market stall.

An interesting car that I spotted in Milan yesterday. It looks a lot like a kit car.

Mike spotted his store yesterday on the Giro route. We have seen McDonalds, Burger King, Blockbuster Video and Foot Locker. Now Mailboxes Etc.

I spent the afternoon hanging laundry, washing windows, cleaning up around the apartment and researching our July vacation to Amsterdam. There are many interesting places to stay and so much to do.

This evening we headed into Milan again. We are getting to be experts at traveling by subway into the city. The first time was a bit stressful, but now we do it without thinking. Tonight we took the red line and transferred to the green line. Our trips are getting more complex! We met Jenny Shih's parents, John and Kathy, for dinner. They are on vacation and staying in Milan this evening. We enjoyed a great dinner and great conversation sharing stories of our adventure and their travels through Italy. Oh, and they surprised Brandon and I with some Crystal Lite. Wooohooo!
