About Me

I am a 45 year husband and dad, currently adjusting to life back in the United States after living in Italy for a little over two years. I love spending time with my family, cycling, model railroading, mosaics and watching TV and movies.

Monday Market

It's Monday again. The forecast for today is: Some sun with a shower, high of 22c. To figure out what that is in fahrenheit you must +15, then multiply x 2. This equation is correct 98% of the time.

In the land of Ferrari's and Lamborghini's, Mike and I spotted a Dodge Viper.

I walked over to the Monday market today. Unfortuantely, I didn't really get what I was after, which was fresh fish. All the nice filets of fish were gone by the time I got there. I guess I need to go down earlier next week. There was a lot of squid and eel and other random sea creatures, but I don't know how and I don't really want to cook them. I did get some nice olive bread and had a cappucino. Its fun to just sit and watch people.

The rest of the morning was spent doing my usual Monday house cleaning - sweeping the tile floor, mopping, doing a load of laundry, and cleaning Brandon's bathroom.

The Skye Channel installers arrived this afternoon. What an interesting time I had. Of course there were many questions about how and where it we wanted the dish to be installed, how to run the cable to the TV, etc. And, to make it even more fun, they didn't speak any English and I don't speak enough Italian. Fun, fun, fun.

Ok, we managed to get Skye hooked up. The only problem is that we were supposed to get a brown dish to blend in with your building. We got a white dish and I'm pretty sure we are going to hear about it from the management. The installers told me I could spray paint the dish. Hmmmm.

We have so many channels - a couple hundred. Oh my! We had about 20 in Corvallis. We have regular local stations, stations from various EU countries, British stations, movie and sports channels. I was even able to watch stage 3 of the Giro d'Italia. Brandon and I spent too much time watching TV today, but hey, we just got TV.

A true Italian car - the Ferrari - although not a color I would choose. If your gonna go Ferrari, you should be bold with your color choice.

Our evening was spent watching TV....ha!
