Off to Lisbon

Today was a travel day.  Our flight to Lisbon was at 1:45 in the afternoon, so we were able to sleep in and have a lazy morning.  Brandon and Katrina woke up before me and went down to Starbuck's for breakfast.

We had to change Metro trains twice to get to the airport.  Our flight to Lisbon was short, only about an hour.  Once we arrived, we had to take a shuttle bus to our hotel.  We are staying at a Novotel near downtown.

The city of Lisbon sits alongside the wide and natural harbor of the Tejo River, which has made it an important seaport throughout the ages.  The city was founded around 1200BC by the Phoenicians.  Next came the Greeks.  In 205 BC, the Romans took control of Lisbon and that is when the city began to prosper.

It was late in the afternoon once we got settled in our hotel room and we really didn't feel like going out.  We hung out and rested.  While resting in the room and using my laptop, Brandon found a Disney store at a mall a few stops away on the Metro.  He wanted to see if they had any Club Penguin merchandise.  We were hungry, and there is always food at a mall, so off we went.

Brandon did find something at the Disney store, a Puffle.  Don't ask if you don't know!!  Time to eat.  We each ordered dinner from different restaurants.  I had Pad Thai.  Katrina had hummus, rice and salad.  Brandon had chicken strips from KFC.

Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy, so we will visit the aquarium.
