Cold Morning in Torino

We slept in this morning. Once we got up we could tell it was darn cold outside. We dressed, packed up our backpack of clothes and went downstairs for breakfast. Novetel had a breakfast buffet that was mediocre at best. They did have wonderfully fresh croissants and fruit and Brandon enjoyed a couple of hard boiled eggs.

The car windows were frozen. I ended up using one of Brandon's Legos to scrape the windows. Brandon thought this was great!

It was so cold, we decided to just head home. Katrina wanted to stop at the mall near the edge of town to see if we could find a Torino Christmas ornament. We did find one and also bought the Ice Age trilogy on DVD. Brandon was pretty excited because he loves the movies and they came with a stuffed Scrat. We tried to find an ice scraper at several stores, but apparently they don't exist in Italy??

It was a bit foggy and icy on the drive home. No big deal. Katrina spotted many frosty white trees along the highway that were calling to be photographed, so we stopped at a rest stop so Brandon could play and she could answer the calling. I kept the car warm. As we were getting ready to go Brandon jumped over a snow drift and landed on a patch of ice. He went down quick, catching himself but bumping his knees and chin on the pavement. He was pretty upset and his hand hurt for awhile.

Playing in the snow at a rest stop.

Once home, the rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing. Brandon played and watched Over the Hedge. Katrina downloaded her pictures from the weekend. I watched TV and played on my laptop.
