Andiamo a ballare in discoteca? - Shall we go dancing at the disco?
Katrina spent some time on her second painting this morning. Brandon slept in until almost 9:45 after a rough late night of Mario Kart.
I spent the morning working on plans for our August road trip. So far it looks tentatively like this: Switzerland - Matterhorn, Berner Oberland region, Luzern. Germany - Neuschwanstein, Munich. Autria - Salzburg. Slovenia - nothern region. Italy - Udine to see Coldplay and Snow Patrol in concert.
We decided to walk into Monza today. Its about a 3km walk, so no big deal. We walked about half the distance in Parco di Monza, before hopping on the Brianza sidewalk. Our first stop was Colorificio Monzoni, the art store Katrina has been buying supplies from. She bought a few more paints and a pad of painting paper.
We walked through the pedestrian zone. Katrina stopped at a clothing store to look at the sales. It is a big sale time right now. All the early fashions are on sale. Its such a busy shopping time for people that the credit card lines are sometimes jammed and they have to run your card a couple of times to get verification. All the store windows have signs, "SALDI". Brandon and I found a bench in the shade to wait for Katrina. Brandon talked me into buying him a limone granita while we waited. We were going to check out the toy store, but it was closed for lunch already. When Katrina was finished shopping, she bought a skirt and a shirt, we walked over to the bibliotecca. Brandon had taken a school fieldtrip to the library and wanted to show it to us. It was closed!
Lunch was now the priority. We found a little bar for lunch. Katrina had a piadina and I had a hamburger and fries. Brandon decided to just eat when we got home, but ended up sharing some of my lunch. We also visited the gelato shop right next door.
We walked home and are a bit tired. Katrina spent some time painting. Brandon played some Wii. I watched the Tour (Astana did a great job controlling the race), took a short nap and did some vacation research.
This evening I watched several Rick Steve's episodes about Munich, Switzerland and Austria. There is so much to see and do!!
