Brandon left on his 2 night residential trip this morning. The 4th and 5th graders will spend 3 days, 2 nights at Villa Cagnola Gazzada, a 18th century aristocratic house surrounded by large gardens near Lake Varese.
Today, after settling into their rooms and eating lunch, the kids were going to visit the Brabbia Swamp, a natural oasis and wetland of international importance. They will hike the trails and seek out birds and other animals that live in the swamp.
This is Brandon's third residential trip. The first year he got to stay in a castle near Torino. Last year they stayed in a hotel in the Alps on the Italian/French border. Its a wonderful experience and one that the students look forward to at the end of each school year.
My day was a little less exciting: reading with 2nd grade students (always fun), laundry, sorting, and painting our bedroom.
It sure was quit this evening without Brandon around. Katrina and I had a nice dinner of risotto funghi and were able to chat.
