This morning we got up and ready to head home.
On our walk to the parking lot where our car was parked, we passed the leaning tower, so we stopped to take a few more pictures.
A couple more pictures of the leaning tower.

It would be a 3 hour drive home, but we planned to stop in Lucca to check out one more old town along the way.
Lucca is a city with large well preserved ramparts, Romanesque churches and shady piazzas.
When we arrived in town we were overwhelmed with traffic and crowds. Apparently Lucca was hosting a large comic and cartoon festival. There were even people dressed as comic book characters. Parking is already at a minimum in Lucca, so we chose to grab some lunch to go from McDonalds and hit the road home.
We arrived home around 3pm and started unpacking, doing laundry and relaxing.
Visiting Tuscany was a very interesting and beautiful vacation. My favorite things in Tuscany were the small hill towns and countryside. If I had to recommend a trip to Tuscany, I would tell people to do the opposite of what we did. Stay in the small hilltowns and do day trips to Florence, Siena and Pisa. The small towns have so much more character.
I've already been asked what our next trip will be. We are not sure. Vacations are like a lot of other things, too much of a good thing can be tiring and somethings overwhelming. I think we are planning to stick around home for November and most of December. We may do a short trip around Christmas, maybe a long weekend to Disneyland Paris?
