Sunny Sunday

We woke up to rain this morning, but the forecast said it would clear up and become sunny.  By mid morning the forecast was right.

We had a nice morning at home.  Katrina and Brandon baked Puffle cakes, followed by some colorful artistic endeavors at the dining table.

This afternoon I went for a bike ride to Lurago d'Erba and back.  It was a beautiful ride, but the skies were not quite as clear and blue as they were on Friday.  What is it about rain that makes all the roads turn to potholes and debris fields?!  The roads are really bad this spring.  Potholes and rough road everywhere, including on the some the great downhills sections, which sucks.

Brandon and Katrina headed next door to Parco di Matteotti late this afternoon.  Brandon hasn't played there much this year.  Much of the playground equipment is for little kids.  They were gone for over an hour, maybe closer to two hours.  I guess they ended up walking around our area.

When they got home, all three of us visited our neighborhood gelateria for a treat.  I had menta and bacio.  Brandon and Katrina both had cannella and crema.  Tasty on this nice sunny day.

We are starting a new tradition with Brandon.  We haven't done a lot of cooking with him, so now we are going to start teaching him.  He will be cooking - or helping cook - dinner once a week.  Tonight he is making penne pasta with pesto.
